Hurriyat Conference strongly condemned continuous house detention of Mirwaiz | KNO

All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the continuous house detention of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Srinagar residence stating that by barring Mirwaiz from carrying out religious social and political activities to the extent of not allowing him to even offer Eid prayers reflects the level of vengefulness and frustration on the part of the ruling regime.

APHC said that since eight consecutive years, the State authorities are religiously following only one rule i.e. confine the chairman of the amalgam to his house and do not even him even offer Eid prayers! The APHC said that it seems that by curbing the movement of Mirwaiz, the government and its agencies are following their plan to keep him away from the people of Kashmir as much as possible.

The APHC further said that caging other leaders of the amalgam including Mukhatar Waza and Hilal Ahmed War and others and raiding the residences of dozens of Hurriyat activists and leaders is highly condemnable. The State administration is hell-bent to promote repressive and totalitarian measures to suppress the genuine peoples movement aimed at achieving the goal of right to self-determination.  The APHC said that despite all the oppressive measures, Hurriyat is committed and steadfast to represent the aspirations of people in all the more.
